Futon Materials
It is always best to have a futon chair bed that is suitable for the needs of whoever is interested in having
one. To find the best one, the potential buyer must take into account the materials that were used in the making or
the manufacturing of the chair bed.
Cotton + foam
Futon mattresses that are made from foam and cotton are very lightweight despite the size. Although they are
lightweight, the cotton and the foam are strong enough to hold their shape under the toughest conditions. Moreover,
this kind of combination of materials for mattresses makes them the most popular type of futon chair beds.
Cotton + polyester
This combination is still a light tandem, but, perhaps, not as lightweight as the cotton and foam combo.
However, this kind of futon chair bed is still soft and comfortable. Many opt to purchase this version because it
is generally easier to clean.
Cotton + wool
If you have in mind an even softer futon chair bed, then a cotton and wool combination is your best bet.
However, there is a small drawback. The mattress of this kind of futon chair bed is not as flexible as the others.
It may not easily convert into a sofa. Although this drawback is a minor one, it sort of contradicts the whole idea
of having a chair bed.
When it comes to finding the perfect futon chair bed, there are some quality and design elements that must be
considered. These characteristics are firmness, quality, rigidity, flexibility and weight. Of course, feature
priority comes in after deciding the main purpose for the futon chair bed.
Generally, having a lighter futon chair bed is better and far more convenient, as long as comfort is not
sacrificed. But, then again, if buying a futon chair bed for its bed function is the goal (not just the fact that
it can be converted from bed to chair) then you choose a heavier futon chair bed instead.
